We Need Tougher Gun Control Laws
Better gun laws is the answer if you are often swept up into the normal frenzy as most people are. Tragedy gets people emotionally stirred to the point where they are reduced to deductive dummies. We may need more stringent legislation for firearm control in America; but I say mostly we need a wake up call in front of the mirror, make sure it’s real clean so the view of the image is realistic, revealing every crack and inconsistency and nothing obstructing what is really there. Gun Legislation; no doubt is on the horizon, and it’s needed from a perspective of better screenings and workplace evaluations for gun owners, yet; the larger issue is actually not being addressed on a serious scale. In this post I will touch on what appears to me to be some not so visibly addressed issues that lead to “Violence in America”.
Protecting Our Children From Violence Where We Live
Ok for the record,I don’t own any assault weapons, but I do know good law abiding people who do own such as these. I live in Texas and we are “under fire” because Texas is known for guns and we are about the most likely to protect ourselves, family and property. I was raised to use and respect firearms from an early age, never to abuse the deadly force possible within these constitutionally protected tools. That’s bad right, well it seems to be the case if you listen to the liberal media. If it was your family at risk would you escort the thieves and attackers in and let them have their way or would you defend them down to the last round. The problem is when you make it illegal for those who believe and keep the laws to own protection according to the law; this will open the door for criminals to be the exclusive owners of these deadly weapons. Then the “lunatics will own and run the asylum”.
The answer is not to put armed guards around our school buildings any more than what is civilly necessary to protect the general public. More than anything else we need to teach our children to be civilly responsible and educate and administer more adequate care for those suffering and likely to suffer ill effects from mental illness.
Teach Our Children About Civic Responsibility
I see it all around me, there is a sense that ther is no-one at the helm of the ship. Many of our children are self taught in life; they are left to tv, video games and their friends to learn about life and responsibility. Many don’t have a sense of civic responsibility because there is no built-in or taught judgement syste. Is’nt there something wrong with this. You add mental issues to this equation and that is a recipe for disaster. The time and efforts parents put into helping equip their children for life is equal to the result. Oh bad things will happen even when you do it all right, but your child deserves at least a chance. “We are not our own masters” and your children need to know they don’t own and rule the world at large. When they find out this reality the hard way; there is not telling how it will effect them, mentally and physically. Life lessons are taught and experienced, teach them to understand life before they have to experience it first hand.

Fox News story on Obama’s Gun Control Initiative
“President Obama will unveil a comprehensive effort to address gun violence as he calls on Congress to ban military-style assault weapons and high-capacity magazines as part of an aggressive agenda that is drawing resistance from some Republican lawmakers and gun rights advocates.
The president, facing criticism over his potential use of executive action to push multiple gun control measures, will be joined by children who wrote him letters about gun violence and school safety at a press conference shortly before noon on Wednesday.
“(Obama) believes and knows that most all gun owners are highly responsible, they buy their guns legally, and they use them safely,” White House Press Secretary Jay Carney said Tuesday. “He also has seen and believes that most gun owners support the idea of commonsense measures to prevent people who shouldn’t have guns from getting them.”
Carney, without getting into specifics, vowed a “comprehensive approach.” Two Democratic aides later confirmed that the legislative plank would include a push for universal background checks, a ban on high-capacity magazines and renewal of the assault weapons ban.
The announcement — the product of a task force led by Vice President Biden — is cloaked in controversy. That the announcement would include children as a backdrop added another level.” Read more
Media Blast Each Other in the Gun Control Debate
It’s true we are sorely divided over these issues, yet when responsible people reason together almost anything is possible. We need to resolve to put our children , our country and our rights first; seek out the root causes of unspeakable violence and brandish a new spirit of unity in answering this call on behalf of our children.
What’s Your answer to Violence in America
Most people have an opinion on almost every issue in the public eye. I live in Texas, I am a gun owner and believe our constitutional rights should remain protected. You may think differently. Stand in the mirror and say where you really stand; Then “share that with us and everyone who will listen”. It matters that much……..
